ROLE:

My client, an International Engineering Company’s Property Management division is currently seeking a qualified Senior Building Technician for one of their Commercial Buildings in Red Deer or Vancouver.

This position reports to the Maintenance Team lead and the successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Operations and maintenance of the environmental, mechanical, controls systems, plumbing, ornamental pools, irrigation systems, electromagnetic systems, and electrical systems including but not limited to heating, air conditioning, ventilation, all refrigeration systems, lighting distribution, water treatment, troubleshooting all systems, emergency procedures, and tenant services.

- Performing scheduled and general preventive maintenance including tenant work orders on the mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems, life safety equipment, specialized site equipment,

- Operating the Building Automation System, Central Heating/Cooling Plant and all their integral components,

- Sharing on-call responsibilities.

- Directing sub-contracted trades when required.

Providing excellent customer service to all tenants.

- Compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation and policies, guidelines, standards, procedures and practices.

- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Team Leader. SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

Minimum requirement: Power Engineers 5th Class or equivalent (4th Class etc...)

A minimum of 5 years directly related experience.

Additional certificates in HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical, Controls and/or Electrical trades are a definite asset.

Systems troubleshooting.
Strong and proven mechanical aptitude in HVAC, heating and central cooling plants.

Ability to make safe and effective technical decisions in all emergency situations.

Excellent verbal, written and communicational skills.

Highly motivated with a strong customer service focus.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment while maintaining a high regard for sensitivity and customer needs. SALARY:

This position pays an hourly wage of up to $26 per hour + excellent benefits and room for growth.
