ROLE

Reports to the Operations/Technical Support Manager and is under the general supervision of the Team Lead, responsible for the effective operations and maintenance of:
  • Environmental, mechanical, and controls systems
  • Plumbing, ornamental pools, and irrigation systems,
  • Electromagnetic and electrical systems including but not limited to heating, air conditioning, ventilation, all refrigeration systems, lighting distribution, water treatment,
  • Troubleshooting all systems, emergency procedures, and tenant services.
  • Perform scheduled and general preventive maintenance including tenant work orders on the mechanical/electrical/HVAC systems, life safety equipment, specialized site equipment, closed/open loop water circuits.
  • Operate the Building Automation System, Central Heating/Cooling Plant and all their integral components.
  • Share on-call responsibilities.
  • Direct sub contracted trades when required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all tenants.
  • Compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation and  policies, guidelines, standards, procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Team Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of ten (10) years directly related experience.
  • Power Engineers 5th Class or equivalent – preference will be given to those candidates holding a current Alberta New 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or higher. 
  • Additional certificates in HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, Controls and/or Electrical trades are a definite asset.
  • Understanding of the operation of DDC controls systems with proven experience and training in systems troubleshooting.
  • Strong and proven mechanical aptitude in HVAC, heating and central cooling plants.
  • Strong ability to understand mechanical/electrical/architectural as-built drawings, P& ID`s, Sequence of Operations and verbal/written instructions.
  • Working knowledge of testing and maintenance of integral fire systems, sprinkler systems, Fire Evacuation procedures, life safety equipment and the general codes that apply to them.
  • Ability to make safe and effective technical decisions in all emergency situations.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communicational skills.
  • Highly motivated with a strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment while maintaining a high regard for sensitivity and customer needs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, inter-office e-mail, BAS, Computer based Central Maintenance Management Systems.

PAY RATE

$26 hour + excellent benefits and room for growth.
