Role A large Engineering Company’s Property Management Division is currently seeking a qualified Building Technician for a building in the Edmonton portfolio. This position reports to the Maintenance Team Lead and the successful candidate is responsible for assistance in the effective operation of the environmental, mechanical and electrical operational systems including but are not limited to heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, electrical lighting and distribution, and water treatment. Perform and assist the scheduled preventive maintenance and general maintenance on the mechanical/electrical systems, HVAC systems and life safety equipment.
Provide excellent customer service to tenants.
Monitor the environmental and protection systems for buildings.
Perform general building work to include but not limited to landscaping, painting, building cleaning, and the upkeep of the mechanical areas.
Assist other team members as required.
Compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation, guidelines, standards, policies, procedures and practices.
Skills
Must have a 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering Certification.
Must have knowledge of fire and safety codes and sprinkler systems.
Ability to make effective decisions in emergency situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly motivated with a strong customer service focus.
Ability to work independently and in a close team.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
